Porteur
Concieved in 1962, Porteur is Dimitri’s oldest piece and the plot evolves around a suitcase and its contents. In the first part of the program, Dimitri amazes the audience with various artistic and clownesque numbers inspired by the seemingly inexaustable contents of a large trunk. The smaller the objects, the greater the joy and surprise at the unexpected things he manages to do with them.
The second part finds Dimitri in the role of a porter at a station whose curiousity is piqued by a collection of suitcases left behind when a train departs. He cannot resist the temptation to open them and finds himself caught in a tidal wave of music.
